About the Role

SYSO is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to support the growth of the company by enrolling new clients and projects for our market operations platform. As a BDM you will be building and maintaining a pipeline of potential new business relationships. You will be working closely with your colleagues in finance, operations, technology, and energy markets to qualify, structure, and execute new engagements that deliver lasting value for the Company and its clients.

As part of a small sales team in a growing startup you will:

  • Research new market opportunities and prospect new relationships
  • Attend industry conferences and networking events
  • Maintain up to date information in our CRM

Network Operations Center (NOC) Operator

Cambridge, MA, USA — Full Time

About the Role

At SYSO Technologies we manage distributed energy resources in real time, responding to events that impact the energy grid. The Operations team is always online and ready to respond to grid events around North America. Ops ensures we meet our North American program commitments by executing dispatch instructions, dynamically managing our market offers and monitoring the health of our systems around the clock.

This is a very unique role. You will be provided classroom training followed by immersive operational training. Your primary responsibility will be to execute in frequent business-critical situations calmly and effectively. Operators seek to develop and improve operational protocol for execution on multiple programs. You will become an expert in executing dispatch requests by Transmission System Operators and will develop an understanding of the issues surrounding grid constraints, asset constraints, load curtailment, and frequency regulation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute responses swiftly and accurately
  • Maintain real-time communications with our operational teams and external stakeholders
  • Respond to dynamic energy resource availability by updating our market offers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Execute all operational procedures using the appropriate checklist
  • Maintain all assigned logs and records legibly and in detail
  • Proactively update protocols, streamline process documentation
  • Engage proactively in training efforts to improve knowledge and skills
  • Troubleshoot or escalate customer queries and system/device failures

Requirements

  • Shift work is a primary requirement of this role. The Operations team follows the Pitman Shift Schedule to maintain 24/7/365 coverage.
  • This job requires operators to work in the Network Operations Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts for security and redundancy purposes. Candidates must live within commuting distance of the SYSO technologies office.
  • Strong digital literacy is fundamental. You will work on an array of platforms, browsers, and tools, including third-party and in-house proprietary software. You must demonstrate an ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues and develop work-around solutions until a fix is deployed.
  • Proficiency with all MS Office programs, but primarily Outlook, Excel and OneDrive.
  • Ability to solve practical and quantitative problems and deal with multiple variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent English, both written and verbal communication. Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals.

Network Operations Center (NOC) Systems Engineer

About the Role

SYSO has an immediate need for a NOC Systems Engineer to join our Operations Team. NOC Systems Engineers help ensure that SYSO’s portfolio of renewable energy assets are monitored 24/7/365 and that controls systems are performing as efficiently as possible. Candidates for this unique role will have a passion for clean energy and the vital technology that empowers it. NOC Systems Engineers manage and troubleshoot various communications protocols across multiple battery energy storage system (BESS) control systems and across multiple markets in North America. Training sessions in a virtual classroom setting will be provided in addition to immersive operational instruction. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and proven experience in a similar capacity will be essential to the success of this role.
